Phacoemulsification

Modern day cataract surgery is a safe and fast with most patients recovering vision shortly after surgery. It no longer requires a large corneal wound with stitches or removal of the lens bag together with the cataract. It can now be achieved with an ultrasound probe used to liquify and remove the cataract through a small self-sealing wound. These wounds can even be made with a laser, making the entire surgery bladeless if so desired.

SMILE surgery is a minimally invasive laser vision correction alternative to LASIK and PRK. It works by using the Zeiss VisuMax femtosecond laser to create a lenticule within the layers of the cornea and subsequently removing it through a small incision. It has the benefit of less dry eyes, greater biomechanical stability and faster wound healing.

AcuFocus

The IC-8 intraocular lens incorporates the use of an optical principle, the pinhole effect, to correct refractive errors. It blocks out peripheral defocused rays of light which distorts the image quality and only allows the central rays to pass through This allows for an extended depth of focus and also address any irregularity arising from the cornea.
